Childbirth Education
What's the difference between a Childbirth Educator and a Doula?
A childbirth educator is a trained professional who provides comprehensive education and guidance to expectant parents about pregnancy, labor, birth, and early parenthood. The goal is to empower you with the knowledge and skills you need to make informed decisions and feel confident throughout your childbirth and parenthood journey. My training and certification is through the International Childbirth Education Association and requires continuous training and recertification for eligibility. My classes are creative, engaging, active, and OPEN! I like to say we leave no stone unturned.

Childbirth educators offer:

-
Education: They provide evidence-based information on various topics, including the stages of labor, pain management options, medical interventions, and postpartum care.

-
Skill Development: They teach practical techniques for labor and birth, such as breathing exercises, relaxation methods, and positions to facilitate labor.

-
Preparation: They help you create a birth plan, understand what to expect during childbirth, and prepare for potential challenges and decisions you may face.

-
Confidence Building: They foster a supportive learning environment where you can ask questions, express concerns, and gain confidence in your ability to give birth.

-
Community Support: They create opportunities for you to connect with other expectant parents, share experiences, and build a supportive network.

A childbirth educator is dedicated to ensuring that you have access to accurate information and practical tools, helping you feel prepared and empowered as you approach labor, birth, and the early days of parenthood. I am also a doula, which is a role that can provide you with more individual, one-on-one attention!
